EES Workshop 2010

 

 

 

The Department of Economics and Quantitative Methods of the University of Pavia and the Kiel
Institute for the World Economy are organizing the second EES workshop on monetary
and fiscal policy for macroeconomic stability on June 18-19, 2010. The workshop will be hosted by
the Department of Economics and Quantitative Methods of the University of Pavia.

We are honored to announce the keynote speakers: Lawrence Christiano (Northwestern University), Martin Eichenbaum (Northwestern University) and Stephanie Schmitt-Grohé (Columbia University).

 Summary

The second Workshop of the EES network, held on June 18-19, 2010, at the University of Pavia, was concluded successfully. The workshop was co-organized by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pavia and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Held under the theme “Monetary and Fiscal Policy for Macroeconomic Stability,” the workshop brought together leading researchers in the field to present and discuss cutting edge research on how monetary and fiscal policy can jointly achieve macroeconomic stability, especially in the context of the recent financial and economic crisis. The keynote speeches were given by Lawrence Christiano (Northwestern University) “Involuntary Unemployment and the Business Cycle”, Stephanie Schmitt-Grohé (Columbia University) “Sources of Business Cycle Fluctuations” and Martin Eichenbaum (Northwestern University) “Infectious Housing Dynamics”.
